YA know I have lived in wisconsin for some 20 years and have been riding for about 25+ and have never heard of this run.
Its up here in WI and happens twice a year in spring and fall and it has plenty of bikes rollin to it. Everything from harleys to vinatge to sportbikes.
My question is for those of you who have heard of it...who is gonna be there.
I am gonna be down as long as its not friggin snowing. If anyone is going let me know and we can get some eats and talk some crap about bikes and guns...two of my favorites.
Rich

Yep Wi is a shathole. Been here all my life. The only part I like is the bluff country west of Madison, and the rich Madison liberals have driven up the land values out there so much I can't afford to live there. sad.gif

Any of them finish the run with intact electrical systems? Not busting on 'em too bad, because I love the Daytona, but they really need to get that stuff worked out. Stopped a guy whose lights were flashing in a weird pattern, turned out his tach was bouncing all over the place, various lights on the speedo/tach cluster were flashing on at random times, and he was afraid to shut it off before he got home. Saw him a week later after he'd put a new tach on it (at a dealer suggestion) and it then said he had a 14k rpm idle, and it wasn't charging. A friend of mine let me ride his Daytona a few times, and it was a great bike to ride, until sparks started flying. Triumph builds a fun bike, but man.... it would be depressing to spend that kind of scratch on a bike to have it spend that much time in the shop.

The new Triumphs are fairly trouble free. They source from the same suppliers that the Japs use. All they make in England is the frames and engines. The same is true for most others. Even Harley buys from overseas. They use Nissan brakes and Showa forks and shocks. I would bet the electronics are from Asia too.

When did they start that? My buddy's bike is a 2003 (IIRC) and the one I stopped was a 2005. If they fixed it in more recent years, I'd actually be interested in picking up a new one.

They have re done the Speed Triple, Spirint ST, and they have a new 675 triple sport-bike that won Cycle World's mid weight shoot out at least once. Probably still not completely on par with the Japs. But I keep hearing good things from the bike mags. I have ridden those three and they are a blast. The 675 has a mean growl totally unlike a 600 rice rocket.

Winner of the 2009 Supertest ‘King of Supersports’ award (for the fourth time) and MCN’s Sportsbike of the Year, the Daytona 675 delivers a killer blow with its combination of outstanding handling and a storming three-cylinder engine. thumb.gif They make a naked version too.

Yes they both were, IIRC. I know my bud's bike is a 900. It flat out MOVES. I'm not a sport bike guy, but that one inspired me.

Those have been discontinued I think. I remember them having issues.
