I have a remington 760 with a Pachmayr side mount flip scope mount! Love the mount but the scope is BAD tf.gif ! Where can I find a scope with a 13/16 or 7/8 tube that will take the abuse of a 30-06!
This is a 1953 gun that is in woderfull shape! This was before they started drilling them for scopes and I dont want to put any more holes in it

Check some of the auction sites, the old Lyman Alaskans had 7/8" tubes IIRC. I think weaver used to make a 7/8" tubed scope also.

As long as everything is straight and on the same vertical plane as the barrel, it should work.

Went to the gun shop today and asked about it unsure.gif ! 1 recomended redrilling tf.gif the other was just a SNOB!! I now remember why I dont shop at Midwest Shooters Supply!!
Specialst you are right keeping every thing straight will be the hard part, But taking a tape to the mount and adding up the rise it will give me I will be right in line with a bigger object lens
Doing this on the cheap and the less I spend on remounting the more I can spend on the scope
