I never thought of this..glad Rampy tickled my brain a lil on another thread about fuel.

If SHTF, and you can take your car/truck to a bug-out location.. maybe your location is a bit further away than a full tank of gas. Perhaps you're around 1/4 tank of gas and that clearly won't get you very far.. Or you need to use 4x4 quite a bit, that sure does suck up fuel quickly!

Just think..if power goes out..so do the gas stations no.gif

Neat! But you need something a little longer for a gas station. If the SHTF I'd still like to have this for getting gas from an abandoned vehicle, boat, tractor, or Semi. At that point it survival of the fittest. Wakka, do you have it yet?

Yeah the gas stations arn't going to be much help.. lol

Thankfully though, I marked the "camps" of where lumber jacks stay. This whole summer they didn't move. And they got a huge fuel tank on their property. No lock, just get the handle, put it in your car, and pump away. They have these huge tanks up there for their chain saws, trucks, tractors, anything that runs on gas. Good way to get a free tank of gas, if needed thumb.gif

No I don't have one yet..plan on buying it though on my next trip to harbor freight. Gotta pick up some more rope. They got 75ft camo rope, rated at 300lbs there for $4.99 a peice. All nicely wrapped up too for easy storage.

Some do, some don't.

Depending on the car/truck.. a long metal rod should take care of that..as long as the filler tube doesn't bend too far.

But seriously, if all else fails, you can just crawl under the car, poke a hole, and let it drain into a bucket thumb.gif

Punching a hole is risky. I cut fuel lines. Works good. As for the screen some have a spring in them. As far as service stations a little careful thought and you can liberate fuel without power and a minimum of tools.
Another good thing is a lock out kit and well some other stuff.
The shame is if its like it could be.......

That sure doesn't sound suspect animlol.gif

That is a good idea though. Either or will work.

This is a far better tool for siphoning gas....trust me. It is an Alaskan staple.

Some cars have electric pumps! If there is a screen then use a metel rod or a stick! If not move on!

Diesels will be the engine of choice when SHTF, due to all of the Govt., Military, construction equip. and big rigs. Just food for thought.

Still need a siphon, great idea.
