Hey guys. I just took a dive in to the 57 world. Got a NIB RRA pistol lower with an 11" upper.

Now to reload for this bugger. Ive heard several different things on loading for it. Can standard 223 bullets be used? If not what is the cheapest plinking bullet to load with?

Where is the best place to find brass? I found 1K once fired for 79 plus shipping on Gunbroker. Any better places?

Standard of the shelf .224 bullets. For cheap one we sell Hornady 40gr V-Max bullets from SS197 we pull down for brass. They have pull marks but does not affect bullet performance at. A great many guys on the fivesevenforum gobble them up for plinker ammo. Stay away from anything heavier then 55gr. 30gr to 50gr give best performance.

Thanks panzer. I have always wondered about the diameter of the bullet, but was never cared enough to ask. Now is a different story

So would 55 grain FMJ be ok just to blast with?

As soon as I get some doe, I will placing an order with you for the bullets. Do you sell just some FMJ plinking ammo in bulk?

55gr will work, but the 40gr pulled give better performance and are cheaper.


Sorry but we will never make plinker ammo. There is just to much over head in making 5.7x28. Plus I don't want to make cheap ammo. I will leave that to Wolf, Bear,etc.

There are a few options though, we have had to temporarily suspend due to primer shortages our program of re-loading your 1x fired brass. That is a money saver.

I meant no disrespect on the cheap ammo, just wanted something for killing paper that would kill my wallet. Your companys reputation is alot like the one I work for. No cheap routes, quality all the way.

Use SS197 for that. Then you can reload it to a lot better performing load. We sell everything you need and soon a reloading manual in CD. Until then I can recommend some good load data and sources for said data.
