I've been looking at Bianchi's AccuMold, Hunter 4800 standard, 4900 crossdraw and Uncle Mikes Wilderness Tactical Safepacker. I've been carying a Ruger Blackhawk in a .41 magnum with a 4 5/8" barrel. It's a litle cumbersome while wearing a pack and my rifle slung over my right shoulder. The bolt of my rifle hits the handle of my Ruger. I've made due with it , but want to carry my Glock 20 in something that does not ride high or carry crossdraw. Has anyone used either of these? Any recommendations?

Might want to take a look at Simply Rugged... Scroll down to the Chesty Puller and the Holster conversion rigs.

Thanks for the info Iggy. I like the looks of the Chesty Puller conversion. I may have found my holster! Have your tried one of these?

You may be able to get away with using a surplus USGI 1911A1 shoulder holster (leather "tanker" holster) by wetting it and form fitting the Glock 20 into it. Maybe.
Otherwise, El Paso Saddelry makes a beautiful "tanker" holster, form fitted to whatever auto you like, and their holster is reasonable too!

I know that this was an old thread but this seamed to really fit here since I made it for my Glock 20. Bacisly I was setting around thinking of deer season coming up and how I was going to carry my woods gun. Belt carry is hard with insulated bib overalls and such so it seams that some type of bandolier holster would fit the bill. So I gave it a shot. I was using nylon webbing for straps at the time to get all of the lengths worked out before making leather ones. It worked flawless for the most part. Here are a few pictures, sorry for my lack of photo taking talent.

It fits and carries great. It is fairly adjustable for clothing and such. Here it is on my 180 pound son and on my "much bigger" frame as well.

I recently bought a Glock 20 SF for the same reason and I also use insulated bibs. That setup looks really good, but since I mostly bow hunt I was thinking of using some kind of shoulder holster.
