I took my new to me DW CBOB 10MM out for a test drive yesterday. The guy I purchased it from said he had about 50 rounds through it. Duno, It looks new, so maybe that's about right.

I took it apart , cleaned it up and lubed the heck out of it. I set my target up at 25 yards. Before I sat down at the bench and sand bag I fired off a couple mags off hand to see how it ran. Well, it didn't run very well. After 2 rounds the slide stop would move up and engage the notch locking the slide back. After the first time it locked back I repositioned my left thumb making sure I was not inadvertently pushing the stop up. Same thing, two rounds and the slide would lock back. I wanted to make sure it wasn't my left hand, so I fired a full mag using only my right hand. Same thing, two rounds and slide would lock back.

I set up at the bench and sand bag with the target set at 25 yards. Hoping for some impressive accuracy I was a little disappointed. My first 7 round group was an unimpressive 8 inches. Being new to the fit and feel of this gun I figured it had to be me. I took my time and fired two more 7 round groups, keeping my left thumb on the slide stop to hold it down. Things were starting to improve as group 3 was about 4 inches.

I put the DW down and fired a few groups with my Para 14-45 and EAA Elite 10MM. Both of these guns have proven to be very accurate. They were accurate yesterday as well. Now, I'm starting to think that maybe it's not all me and the DW isn't as accurate as I had hoped.

At the end of the day I had fired 100 rounds of 180gr Zero JHP/ 8.2gr of Silhouette. My best group was #4 at 3 inches. The rest were a very consistant (high and left) 4 inches. I also chronyed this load in the EAA and DW. The EAA with 4 3/4 inch barrel averaged 1208fps and the DW with 4.3 inch barrel came it at 1128fps avg.

I've got several powders and bullets that will work on the 10MM, so I guess I will see if I can find a load she likes. I gotta figure out that slide stop thing also.

Thanks
Steve

I was also doing some load development with my AR-15 at 100 yards. Just before I left I fired off 5 rounds with the CBOB at 100 yards. Off a rest of course. Thought it was pretty amazing I even hit the target at 100.

Wow. Call DW, I'll bet they'll give it a look for you, even though you aren't the original owner.

Sounds like you have a bit of a lemon with that DW. I agree, call DW, their customer service has an excellent reputation.

BTW, that Tanfoglio Elite sounds as if it is a real winner! That is the kind of pistol that I'd love to have hanging on my duty belt when the SHTF!
