The race to military approval of the 6.8
As you all know there are several different twist and chambers available in the 6.8 SPC.
Performance sells, bullet companies boost their BC ratings just to sell more bullets. Every ammo manufacturer tries to get the most velocity and accuracy from their loaded ammo.
The military is still looking at the 6.8 and if you were selling something wouldn't you want to make your best showing? If I was a company that made guns and knew that if the military adopts the 6.8 my sales would go through the roof, I sure as hell wouldn't make a piece of shit and say hey look what I can do!!
The military wants results and the best results will be obtained with the correct equipt and ammo. The barrel and chambers that produce the best results(handle the highest performance loads) in every test is the 11-12 twist and the SPC II or DMR chamber.
Silver State Armory produces the only high performance ammo made for the 6.8. In test just this last week SSAs "Combat Loads" produced the following results from a 16" Ko-Tonics.
Combat -110 Pro-hunter-2712fps
combat-110 Barnes TSX-2681(Art of SSA said he would match the hunter)
combat-115gr OTM EF -2631fps
This is FACTORY ammo producing these speeds!!!! This ammo is 100-200fps faster than any other factory 6.8 ammo.

IF the military adopts the 6.8 in a 10 twist configuration you can kiss the extra 200fps goodbye and we have to live with the lackluster performance for a long time.


So in a way maybe more will understand the race results.

it will hurt what all of us are able to purchase for years to come.
Send e mails or make calls to companies that you like to do business with and tell them how important it is for for the military to adopt the absolute best 6.8 configuration.
