This might belong in the ammo category, but..... I had seriously considered getting me a 10mm, but I was wondering what the reality of finding ammo is? I know alot of you guys reload, but for the non-reloader...is this ammo a PITA to find? Ive gone to a couple of online ammo sites, but they have nothing. THe 10mm round seems darn impressive, but I dont want to get a gun I cant shoot due to ammo availability. The Delta Elite looks like one sweet handgun. Thanks for info.

I picked up some Blazer ammo to practice with at Gander Mountain. I haven't found the good stuff in stores, only on line.

Georgia Arms and Bitterroot Valley both list 10mm. I have purchased from Georgia Arms before, but have never tried BVAC. I would have purchased from BVAC for my second 1K, but I started handloading.

Double-Tap also makes some good ammo. My carry ammo is double-tap, and I try to shoot about 300-500 rounds per year of their fodder through my guns.

Don't start handloading. It is just as addictive as shooting, and before you know it you will be casting your own bullets too. I can shoot 10mm, 357/38 and 44 Mag/44 Special for about the same price as I can shoot .22.

There is an adequate supply of 10mm ammo around. But you do have to be a bit more vigilant in searching.
Blazer and UMC are common in many stores here in NM.

Thats good news. I usually buy all of my ammo from Cabelas or Ammo to go. Ammo to go had zero. Its just not a usual round to find on the shelf at Walmart, so I wanted to know the reality of ammo supply. I dont have a 1911, so Ive decided my next handgun will be a 1911 and maybe in a 10mm. My wife and I have really cut down on spending due to the economic situation. So many guns, so little cash to blow. flea.gif

I guess I am just lucky here in Utah. It seems like the only place that doesn't have 10mm is Wally World. My regular range stocks blazer (which I never buy). My alternate range has 10mm ammo from a local re-manufacture outfit. Sportsman's Warehouse always has American Eagle on an end-cap somewhere. Even during the ammo shortage, I was able to find 10mm locally, even when other stuff was gone.

I haven't really shopped locally since last spring. Between loading and casting, I have little need for factory ammo anymore.

We've got nothing in northern or central OK. I mean nothing. There were two boxes of Hornady XTP 155's at one shop and two boxes of Pow'r Ball at another. That's all I've found this year locally. I bought 100 rds from Georgia Arms and 150 from Double Tap. Otherwise, I've reloaded what I have. I'm optomistic, though.

And theres nothing here in alaska either. Hasnt been since last Christmas when I fortunately scored 500 rds of HSM jhp's. Last week one store got in what he said would be his last shippment of the year, of afew thousand rounds of HSM fmj's and a couple thousand Corbons. (I of course stocked up again!) The good news is that throughout this time I have been able to order from Double Tap and he is one of the few who will ship to alaska. Funny how we live in the land of the free but so many of these ammo sales outfits wont ship to a US State.

I've been thinking about a Glock 10mm, but that's my concern too, ammo availabilty when the gremlins come.
