This is a little something that I've been working on. I should have the last few bits needed shortly, and then it'll make the trip to my local vinyl guy for the final decoration.

It started as a bare frame sitting in my driveway.

Then I added a few odd pieces that I had laying around and......(notice any sort of theme taking shape here?)

So what if there are a few GSXR and R1/R6 parts on it.

And 'cause I had a couple of CF parts, I added them too.

With luck, I'll have it ready to go in a week or so. really.gif

Yep!
I've already talked to my vinyl guy, and for a few $ it'll have some stars and stripes added to complete the theme, and make it look a little less like it was assembled from spares.

I'm even thinking about having some stickers made with it's name on it......SV1000 LEGION......like Frankenstein's monster ("for we are many").

Great looking bike. Ever consider leather instead of vinyl? Just my personal choice. Had leather on my Speed Triple it was very comfortable it would exchange heat a bit better than the vinyl on my Triumph Sprint ST. Made the longer rides or rdes on hot days a little more pleasant.

I assume you're talking about the seat. The one that's on there is a factory 1" lower seat, which I like because I'm in it as little as possible. It's also not going to be a "road bike". I don't do trips on my bikes, I trailer them to where I'm going to ride if I go anywhere. That iron butt stuff is too much straight line.......=no fun.

The vinyl that I was referring to are stickers/decals.
Anymore, paint is too much of a pain. Vinyl is tons easier, and easier to fix should it get messed up.

It's ALIVE!!

Yesterday, I spun on a new oil filter, dumped in the oil, filled the radiator, put a gallon of gas in the tank, hooked up the battery, turned the key, and pushed the button.

It fired up and idled right where it should right off.

I still have a few things ordered that I'm waiting for, to finish up the funtional side, before doing the cosmetic finishing. I just needed to know that it all worked.

Absolutely!
It threw a FI code, C-13 (IAP). I had a hose mis-routed. Fixed it, set the idle, set the TPS, and it runs perfectly.

Now it's just the bodywork/cosmetic finishing.

Yes! animlol.gif

Actually, it will see duty both places. First on the track, because I want to ride it this year, but don't feel it worth the expence of plating and insuring it for what's left of this season. Especially when you figure that the cost would be about the same as a trackday weekend.

Next spring, it'll be my street "S", and I should have the trackbike ready.

He is called "Legion", for he is many.

Rode "Legion" today. Just about a two mile run, to see how it felt. I still have some lose ends to tie up before it goes to the vinyl guy, but here's what it looks like at the moment.
