My son, Alex's, is a Cavalry Scout with the Minnesota Army National Guard and is trained as an "Advanced Reconnaissance Specialist". He has recently returned after serving a year in Iraq with the 1-194th Alpha Co. doing convoy escorts and combat patrols through out the Sunni Triangle. Alex and his squad spent 12 to 16 hours a day out side the wire and is credited with finding the most IED’s then any other in his unit… And they found them the easy way.I will use this thread from time to time to post his pictures. He took some good ones so stay tuned..http://longlostlake.com/v-web/gallery/Alex

Now I can put a picture with this old report from Alex’s XO Family and Friends, On Saturday an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) struck one of our crews while on an escort mission. SGT ********, SPC ********, and SPC ***** were our three Apaches who were in the vehicle. The IED exploded under the front of the vehicle between the engine and the front, right wheel. The vehicle suffered extensive damage. Most importantly however, it our three Soldiers all walked away. The Soldiers were doing the right things when the explosion happened and did the right things afterward. Their professionalism, courage, and equipment saved their lives. We truly have the absolute best of everything. We have the best and brightest American Soldiers. We have the best training and the best equipment. It is a testament to the Up-Armored HMMWV that it could sustain a blast like this one without any damage to the crew compartment. Mike ******* CPT, AR Commander, A CO, 1-194 AR

Back at the relative safety of the FOB enjoying a “Red Bull”. The 1-194th Apache Co. is part of the 34th Red Bull division and the “Red Bull” energy drink shipped them all the “Red Bull” they could drink.

If it's cool... its probably banned in NY.... QUOTE (captainbarred @ July 24th 2009 8:27 PM) But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!
So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!
