What is the opinion from the experienced on pentagonlight lights? The model in question is the MS2.

Pentagon makes great gear, but I thought they were pretty much out of business.

Out of business, Surefire sued them over a patent and won.

I hate to see them go. They did make good lights.

Did not know that & http://www.pentagonlight.com/ does not have anything I can find abouot it.

I've got one & while it's a good sturdy light, it's not nearly as bright as the SureFire G2. When I got it Surefire did not have the G2 line out yet or the CREE upgrades. If I had to do it all over again I'd go with a G2 and CREE upgrade.

Yeah, there's still a few of their lights floating around out there for sale in different places. I keep thinking about getting another L2/X2 as a backup, or for parts, before they're all gone... unsure.gif

They still have a website-pentagonlights.com and there are tons of products available on line. Are you sure they are out of business?

GM, when I bring up pentagonlights.com - I get a knife sales site - not a flashlight sight. Pretty sure Pentagon is Penta-Gone the way of the Do Do bird. What a shame.

I loved their lights. Still have one on my patrol rifle. I guess if the LED ever dies, it will go into the trash, but I love the thing.

I'd bet you could find a replacement head that would work. They were close to the surefire in design - you might be able to fit the P61L lamp head in there? If not, it'll fit lots of SureFire lights. I need to find one for my G2 - the incan lamp burned out. Want to replace it with a more battery-friendly LED head.

Still can't find my damn TLR-1 either - I think the jackholes who installed the new water tank took it, seriously.

Also need a lamp for my Cabela's XTR light sad.gif All my good lamps died or got lost/stollen within a few weeks of each other. My Streamlight TwinTask needs batts now too, I think.

I am searching for a new light for my patrol rifle. I'd like to find something with a straight cord pressure switch, something not made by Surefire, and something in excess of 120 lumens.

Why ruling out the SureFire? The X300 should fit your bill...it's got the pressure switch, clamps onto any pic rail, bright as shat...

Course if you don't like SureFire, there's always Insight Technologies/Streamlight, maybe Pelican has something you can use?

I did consider the TLR1, but I'm not sure how bright they are. I'm not in any hurry, my Pentagon is still working fine.

Well, if I can ever find mine (I really hope those bastid tank installers didn't gank it) I'll bring it with and you can see for yourself how well it works. We can no doubt simulate low/no light, you can mount it to your AR and do some mag dumps...whatever you think would be a test of how it works. Thing with the TLR-1 light is that I don't have the pressure switch on mine - I've got the rocker switch. If'n I'm not mistaken, Streamlight does have a replacement back plate that has a pressure switch.
