you did a great oak. Have you got to shoot it yet ?
I will take it out this weekend and test for function and accuracy.
This is just the beginning. Next I have to strip it down and decide what finish to use. All firing pin safety parts will be removed and not return. Then I need to buy parts, lots of parts. The only things I will keep are frame, slide, barrel and the new bushing. Jay Crowder of Elite Custom will weld up and hand fit the barrel to the slide. As well as any other metal fitting that needs doing. I may get a new slide, as Para uses proprietary front sight cuts and this slide has a rear bo-mar type cut which makes conversion to combat type sights expensive. In the end it might be cheaper to go with a Caspian slide already set up for my sights of choice.
Trying to keep the costs down, but it will be tough. No fancy do dads or gee gaws, finish will be plain jane. Function will be the rule of the day.
