Ok, a while back I was going to do a build on a Springer High Cap GI. Well I got tired of waiting for it and had other things come up, so I canceled the order. Fast forward to today, I see a forlorn well used P14 limited that fit the bill for a build better. I put her on layaway and should be able to get the project done for less, as this one has bomar sights, beaver tail etc already. The slide is fit well, the trigger sucks and the bluing is suspect. I will replace the trigger and ignition parts, springs, get a new bushing fit and have it re blued. Total project should come in under 1k. Pics later.

It has a stupid polymer trigger and the sear has a ton of creep and break of what seems to be 8 lbs or more. I will know more when I tear it down.

I wonder what I did with all my take off and parts that just never got a chance to install. I am gonna look for my 1911 box O' parts.

I found a receipt in the box from Para for repair work. They charged the previous owner for a new trigger group. Hard to believe they put new parts in based on the way it feels.

I have an original P13 (takes P14 mags) frame that came out in 1989. Back when Para made the first hi cap frame. I put a Colt slide and Colt parts in it. Gonna redo the rear sight but it shoots great. Changed out the plastic mag release just recently too. Good luck on yours and hope you like it as much as I like mine.

Oak, I dont know much about 1911 high caps. Will standard parts fit on one? I was looking at a RIA at a local shop BNIB for 499 I almost took her home but when did the press check for the safety the hammer fell grant it only to half cock but I was still surprised.

The upper is standard 1911 fare. The trigger group, with the exception of the trigger bow is the same. The mainspring housing is different as is the frame, mag catch and mag.

I pick it up Sunday. Will do a range report and post some "before" pics. After that it gets torn apart. Then I will have the frame and slide re-blued. Then I start buying parts.
