Nope.

I think Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be a store, not a alphabet agency.

Well I used to be in the VT state guard. Which I guess is sort of an organized civilian militia. Although we were under the command of Gen. Martha Rainville of the VT national guard.

I was a sgt in the marksmanship training unit.

Hell. .....it got us access to a hell of a training area.

If you're talking about just you and some buddies getting together to form a paramilitary organization...hell no....never would be a part of one either.

Tennessee has one and considered it.

Here it is a state sponsored emergency response association that answers to the state. It's an all volunteer group mainly made up of older veterans. Joining you retain your military rank, get an ID card that gives you comissary/PX privilages on state military bases, and you must attend monthly meetings. One week a year they train on a military base for a week. Bad news, is no guns.

The idea is to have an organization that would fill in for the guard in a dissaster if the guard is deployed such as now. The 278th is in Iraq.

Sadly this group of civic minded state sponsored individuals had to change their name away from Militia which they had for decades during the media blitz on extremist right wing organizations when they were included in a national news story right along with the fortress nut cases. Their membership has been weening since then but they still work the gunshows looking for recruits.

No, and wouldn't consider it. Too much demonization by the mainstream media. No doubt there are some fine people involved with those organizations, but they've been too closely tied to the neo-nazi's, and to kookdom in general.

The media ---- and police feared them , why, I have no idea other than they had the means to resist an unlawful attack on themselves .

Then a few nut jobs made them all look bad.
Which is crazy --- like a bad cop means all cops are bad .... ?

All in all I think they have "had their day , and that day is over.

Time to form hunting clubs and gun clubs with the same theme .

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!
