QUOTE (pleaforwar @ November 7th 2009 3:27 AM) Yea, it is a kind of difficult survey to perform being that Pantera is no longer around. That being said, some of Pantera's albums are the best ever. Far Beyond Driven is a HELL lot better than Load, Reload, or St. CRAPPER. +1000 its even better than the re re load that out now.

QUOTE (pleaforwar @ November 7th 2009 2:27 AM) LMAO, your fantasies wont be realized through me man. I just think Justin is full of it when he says Metallica was glam rock back in the 80's. Nah, I never said "glam" but they have appeared like some losers. Maybe not as bad as Pantera has, but close enough. Besides, I like KISS too, and you can't get an more "glam" than that. Tight leather is never a good thing on a man.

Never seen Metallica play but have seen Pantera at Ozzfest 2000....so I'll go with Pantera...was a helluva show. I'm not a huge metal fan at all so take it for what it's worth.

The Godfathers of both bands and many more. Lemmy Killmister got booted from Hawkwind (a night mare version of Stink Floyd [way overrated] in the Acid Rock genre) for possession of speed. He was going to name the band Bast*rds but went with Motorhead (biker slang for speed freak: pills) And that's is history. Both band have covered Motorhead Metallica in concert did Ace of Spades and a couple of other songs. Pantera cover Orgamatron on one of their CDs. Lars was the US president of Motorhead Bangers. And I am a member. Sorry had to run a fare before I could spell check.

He looked at me and said "You are a liar." Well I was disilusioned, if I say the least. I grabbed him by the collar and jerked him to his feet. There was something cold and shiny a-laying by my head. So I started to believe the things he said.

Metallica was good on the black album and before. everything after was unmitigated CRAP. Every song that got airplay sucked sweaty donkey balls. Especially fuel and all the remakes of the Unforgiven. Before the black album they rocked hard with a few misses.
Pantera, the version with Phil Anselmo, Vinnie, and Dimebag. I can't think of a bad album from them. Cowboys from Hell was a pretty good thinking album and after that it just got heavier.

QUOTE (POOR_MAN @ November 7th 2009 12:57 AM) WHAT?
How many times has Metallica changed to suit pop-culture.
90's Metallica was the worst.
After the black album it was dud after pandering dud. I like the newer stuff more than I do LOAD, RELOAD, and yes MOTHERLOAD.
The 90's had some decent music, but Metallica fell right into the "has-been" category back then. Yeah Metallica was awesome up to the Black Album, but then after that it was like WTF?! As time goes on I find that Kill'em All is my favorite album.

It seems to be when you got into it weather you liked the later stuff or not. My age has nothing to do with it. My favorite albums are Ride the Lightning and And Justice for All... I'm not saying they were Metallica's best work, I'm just saying they don't suck. I will agree with you that Load, Reload, and St. Anger were terrible.
