Well guys/gals? Who rocked better? Dimebag or Het?

I have to go with Metallica, mainly because of their military songs..... but it is a very difficult choice. badgerslayer.gif

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Pantera hands down, no contest, close the thread now. Pantera, second to none, first and foremost.

Metallica is good, in the sense they are adaptive, but Pantera is so much farking better.... game over man... game over.

Dude, trust me.... it was hard. The only reason I can pick Metallica is because of songs like One, Disposable Heroes, Sanitarium.... they gave props to the military.

That and I'm not the biggest fan of Phil.

So does Drowning Pool.

I was at a concert once, were Drowning Pool got the crowd all riled up with pro-America, Pro-Texas dialoge I thought the time had come. laugh.gif

Talk about unification, a crowd of 2000+ was completely ready to mangle any and everything remotely un-American. oh yea.gif

An hour later Buckcherry took the stage, the vocalist talked trash about Enduring Freedom, bashed Texas, called the audience "Cvnts" and they immediately retreated off stage under a barrage of water bottles, beer cans, and other flying debri. Wild youngsters raided the stage like a bunch of Huns. Needless to say, they were unable to preform, and some one had stripped their equipment van... they lost everything. They haven't been back smile.gif

Buckcherry was a good concert, even though they never struck a cord. Better than the '01 Green Day concert.

Noticed how you didn't mention how Pantera was supportive in your response? wink.gif

The argument isn't Metallica vs. Drowning Pool, it's Metallica vs. Pantera. thumb.gif

That's because it goes with out saying.... PANTERA..

WALK ON HOME BOY!!!!

Metallica has been around along time, and they have evolved greatly.

I think one of the best, if not THE best music videos is from Metallica.

BEST VIDEO EVER! <CLICK

THAT is the coolest video ever, and I am a huge TOOL fan. All Nightmare long is about the best video paired with good music.

Sarge, AC/DC is awesome, I won't argue about that.

That being said, this is an American battle, so AC/DC, Motorhead, or any other kick-ass foreign metal band can mind their own....

And btw, who compares AC/DC with Metallica and Pantera? CONFUS12.gif

It's like comparing Hank Williams Sr. with Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

Pantera was awesome, I will NEVER disagree with that.

That being said, Metallica never was part of the whole glam-rock scene....

Well, I'll be honest. I never got into American Metal all that much.

It always seamed more like noise and not well thought out planned LOUD music like the Brits and others gave us.

Just the way I see it. While AMerican Metal CAN and does get my heart pumping, Stuff like AC/DC gets me pumped AND is a good tune.

Metallica, because I have never heard of Pantera, therefore they do not rock as hard.

Hardest, most throatiest(and Im not talking vocals) rocking I have heard yet has been several songs from Demon Hunter. Check it out on youtube yall.

WHAT?

How many times has Metallica changed to suit pop-culture.

90's Metallica was the worst.

After the black album it was dud after pandering dud. I like the newer stuff more than I do LOAD, RELOAD, and yes MOTHERLOAD.

The 90's had some decent music, but Metallica fell right into the "has-been" category back then.

That video is awesome huh?

I have seen zombies, I have seen nazi zombies, BUT have you ever seen Soviet Zombies infiltrators and gigantic hazmat robots?

That vid is one of, if not the best music video in all of recorded history.

Best music video plot ever, the Tunguska event with the alien spores, right up to admistration of a weaponized compound!

There needs to be a full length movie based on the plot of that vid.
