Hello. I am from Ohio and I am a bow hunting fanatic. I usually kill 4 or 5 deer every year and try to get at least 2 or 3 with my bows. Some years are better than others. Two years ago I got 7 with a bow and 1 with a muzzleloader. That year we hunted Ohio, West Virginia, & Pennsylvania. This past 2007 bow season I dedicated to my oldest daughter and she got her first bow kill. I could not have been any prouder. I did get 1 with a crossbow and 3 with my Knight disc elite front loader. In the past I almost always get my first deer of the season with my old Bear Kodiak recurve bow, from there I use one of my compounds until the weather gets real bad (below 20 degrees) then I switch to a scoped horton, or a scoped 10 Point crossbow. We realy try to get after the deer at my house, the more deer we kill the less meat we have to buy at the store. Talk about organic food! I even schedule ALL of my vacation time at work for the Ohio gun season and the muzzleloader-only seasons respectively. If I cant bow and or gun hunt for deer for whatever the reason I would probably loose my will to live! No seriously I absolutely LOVE to bow hunt.

I am also not very good with a computer but I am learning every day, mostly not by choice but for my job. Thank God that my kids are around to help bail me out.

QUOTE (KENNYOHIOHUNTER @ July 17th 2008 10:02 PM) Hello. I am also new this or any site for that matter. i deleted your double post. we're glad to have you here, and earlier i typed deliance, but i meant defiance. if you have any pics, we have a thread for those. i'd love to see your deer. my buddy laughed at the deer we have down here in VA. after i saw some pics he had, i understood why. jump right in man, general discussion is usually a TON of fun.

Hello. I just found and joined this site yesterday. Just about everything I have seen and read so far is very cool. I never realized that forums like this even existed. A bunch of people with similar interests, very nice. I enjoy guns of all types, just about any form of hunting/camping and fast cars. I look forward to hearing about everyone else. later.

Defiance isnt very far from where I live. Less than 1 1/2 hor ride. As far as pictures go I have to wait for my daughter to get back from college this weekded, she has a scanner and will post them for me. I know nothing about computers and am impressed with me even doin this! As far as deer hunting goes I kill alot of deer every year. Mostly I concentate on wacking the flat heads because my family eats them better but i am not giong to let a nice buck walk past my stand either. Here in Ohio we truely do have some nice deer. Some of the bucks we see are Tremendous! We just started getting involved with planting food plots and so far have had pretty good sucsess with the Bio-Logic branded products. We hunt most of the deer on public land and under fairchase conditions. We do have some private property at our disposal also. Up until a couple of years ago the largest non typical whitetail in Ohio came off of the farm that my younger brother married into their family. the Osbourne buck. What an awesome animal. The buck we have been after for the last 2 years now is a massive I mean MASSIVE typical 14pt. This honestly is a 250 lb bruiser. My daughter had him last year at 60 yards and coming, he was following a drag line I put down with VS1, she was shaking soooooo much that her arrow was bouncing off of the crossbow. That was all he neede to hear and took off. I had him come past my ground blind on opening day of gun season last year at full tilt. All I could do was stand there and watch him go past me. If he would have hesitated for 1 split second I would of put a 250gr sabot in his chest. Unfortunately it never materialized. I do plan on meeting him again this year hopefully with my compound!

I'm a new member here. I post mostly at the FAL Files and AR15.com. I love to bowhunt more than any other type of hunting. I recently got into traditional and this will be my first season with all traditional equipment. I found a really good deal on a Martin Black Mamba and a Raglin Black Bear. I like the Martin better because it seems to be smoother than the other. I also have an older Diamond Recon compound that I love as well. Look forward to sharing stories and such.
