Completed this last week after what seemed like a very long 2 months.
Posted this on a couple of other sites, thought I'd share.
I need to change the M4 stock out to a Sopmod or Emod and put it back on the Defender lower.
Switch out the harsh RRA lpk trigger with a Geissele SSA.
Get a Bius, sling and mounts.
Components:
Mega Gator stripped lower
RRA lpk
BCM milspec stock assembly w/ carbine buffer
LMT M4 stock
Mega stripped upper w/ M4 ramps
Saber 18" 410SS fluted midlength midweight SPR 1:8 5.56 NATO
G&R Tactical M-16 BCG
DD lo-pro gas block
DD M49.0 free float rail
PWS FSC556
LaRue LT104 mount
Millett DMS-1 1-4 scope

Took it out and it ran smoothly, no issues. Did a 75 yd zero, nice groups for a first time out w/ 55gr VShoc. Gotta load up some 77gr MatchKings to get a better idea.

I have a Mega myself and they are one tight fitting guns, you find no slop in the Upper and Lower Receivers.

Nice looking rifle you have there. thumb.gif

dayum Red!!!

You've got me jealous! I just sold some stuff to get some spare cash and just ordered the same Sabre barrel from Addax!

Seeing the looks of the FSC 556 I think I am going to need to call Chris and add one of those to my order!

I already picked up a Vtac FF rail to go on it, and instead of BUIS may do a 1 o'clock mini holosight for close in work.

Then I just need a lo-profile gas block, gas tube, and BCG.

It'll be slapped on a pre-ban DPMS lower with RRA 2 stage trigger group(if/when I get more spare cash I want to upgrade to a singe stage and put the RRA in my Addax GPU) - also have a Magpul PRS stock on order still that will eventually be added to the mix, though depending on weight that may change...

Friggin beautiful SPR though my friend!

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

Nice.

How do you like that scope? Ive been thinking about that one.

And could you do me a favor and measure the distance between the bottom of the eye piece and the top of the rails? I need to see if my BUIS will fit under there.

I like the scope, esp.for the price.
Mounted on the LT-104 it's .682" above the top.

I got lucky to find that barrel NIW on the EE for a fair price.
The FSC556 is pricey but well worth it, the peel washer takes time, but not too hard a time.
Thanks everybody for the kind feedback !
Good luck and have fun on all your building projects.

Sweet. Thanks man. Looks like Ill be getting that scope now. Its $100 cheaper than the other I was looking at, and its also illuminated.

As far as the BUIS under it, I have the MBUS, which are kinda tall, so if it fits, it will JUST fit. I tried to measure it but I need something more than a tape measure to measure that. Too close. lol

I've heard nothing but good things about ADM. Solid platform, a full length side panel instead of 1 small section to brace against the QD side of the rail.

What's your issue with the ADM?

I'm leaning toward a MI SPLP rear sight. At .4375" folded it should fit okay.

It's a LaRue Kool-Aid thing.........

Lots of speculation that if they designed what they make instead of reverse engineering Mounts like this.........

It all boils down to personal preference no matter how ya slice the pie............

Ok, I thought maybe you were saying something about the quality. I do prefer the look of the ADM though. I guess we will see when I get the scope.
