What's the words on MAGPULS new precision stock? Pros? Cons? Any other suggestions?

Never owned a magpul stock, but I cannot complain about the Vltors they are a excellent stock and with the waterproof storage compartments this makes it better.

It's a sweet stock. I love the adjustable LOP.

For me the cheekpiece is unusable as I shoot nose to charging handle and it is too far back for me to get a decent cheekweld. THe charging handle precludes the cheekpiece from being in a good position.

I like the buttstock hook....some don't because it is too far forward to connect your fingers to your shoulder when supprting it with the off hand under the stock. Wasn't a problem for me.

It's built in a VERY sturdy manner and I expect it to last a hell of a long time.

If you can get by the cheekpiece issue (really not much of one because I don't need a raised cheekpiece unless I'm running NV) its an EXCELLENT stock IMO.

Here's what's in my closet:

Neat concept, but I agree on the cheekpiece. I also wish it had a little more pronounced angle on the bottom. I sometimes like using a sand sock with the support hand. You can make adjustments in elevation quite nicely this way on an A2 stock, but with the flat bottom on the Magpul it is not as feasible. Not a factor for some, but it bugs me.
The quality of the stock overall is quite good.

I'm wanting to install one on mt Bushy Varminter which I only use for benchrest shooting. From what I understand, it's a fairly easy install. Correct?

It's extremely easy (unlike their damn telestocks). Installs pretty much the same as an A2 but with a set screw near the rcvr.

I'm half a retard and I didn't need any help laugh.gif

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

I'm lucky I got one of them. I'll be interested to see what the final revisions are.

No idea. We got ours directly from magpul for T&E and marketing purposes. I'm not sure if they are available to consumers yet. They sent out a bunch do dealers and distributors but as far as I know it's samples only.

One of the dealers on here might know.

FWIW...It took me 2 days to get this one smile.gif
