Hope this is posted in the correct area.(1st posting) I have recently purchased four M1 carbines.but haven't taken possession of them as of yet. Three are Underwoods and one is a Rock-Ola/Underwood. Serial #2654xxx/ 2779xxx/ 2795xx/ and1387xxx. All four have their respective serial#'s stamped in the stocks. Is this normal? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Whole serial#? Seriously, I don't think I have ever seen an M-1 carbine with any serial# or part thereof on the stock let alone matching, but then most of the ones I have seen have been reimported and likely arsenal worked 2 or 3 times. I could be wrong, Gmountain might be able to help.

I've heard the Koreans stamped the serial numbers of the receivers into the stocks on M1 carbines they had. I've also heard it was guns from Israel, which seems likely. The Israeli's have done it on other guns.

The good news is they took good care of their guns.

I've seen them on guns from Century and AIM.

I got an Israeli Carbine from Century several years ago. There were no numbers stamped in the stock that corresponded with anything. Mine looked like it had never been fired mechanically. Parts were all in good shape. and the stock was only mildly dinged.

I have one of the commercial variants from the early 60's, but would like one of the military versions. I'll keep my eyes open.
