I just started working with LS and 180gr HP/XTP. I'm loading 9.2gr of LS at 1280fps out of my EAA. I worked up to 9.6, but the higher I got the slower the velocities. Could have been the Chrony, I duno. I have re-worked the loads and am going to try again.

9.4 grains for 1267 fps with a CCI 350 primer. COL 1.260. As always, YMMV.
Shot from a Kimber STII. I have seen 10 grains listed on the GT forum buy have not gone that high.
Others have reported that LS gets to the "point of diminishing returns" as far as velocity increases when adding a few more tenths of a grain.
This is not uncommon for some powders.
IOW, Like peashooter discovered, when you add more, you get less velocity.

Pistol used is a G20SF. I load 9.3 g. of Longshot, a Starline case loaded no more than 3 times (at this load), Montana Gold 180g. HP, and a Wolf primer out of a standard length KKM barrel gets 1250fps. This makes very accurate ammo and has explosive results on water bottles. Very fun load.

G20 with LWD standard length barrel.
Starline brass
cci-350 primer
9.4 grains of Long Shot
180 grain XTP set at 1.260"
velocity is 1325fps on both of my Pact chronographs.

It does a nice job on varmints!
