I was going to reply to this subject on another thread, but thought I should start another one.

They should have one or two designs from each manufacturer of quality holsters as demos. "We have this, and this, and this. I personally suggest this. It's impossible for us to stock one of these for every gun we sell. I can have it here in a week though."

Exactly! I don't see why they won't do this. For this reason I order my holsters direct from the manufacturer, and the gun store doesn't get my money.

I do think the cheapo holsters are good for first time gun carriers to find out what they want in a holster. I went cheapo paddle and decided I didn't want a paddle holster. Then I went with a Galco IWB and absolutely love it. I saw a guy today at the store where I work with a holster on, but no weapon in it. I guess he didn't think we allowed weapons inside or something, although we do. It was a cheap Uncle Mikes padded holster. The kind with the webbing that goed over the top and snaps in place halfway down the holster. You would be lucky if you could unholster that weapon in a fight against the really slow zombies in "Night of the Living Dead". I've heard a lot of people, usually my age in their 20's, talk about incidences where their weapons fall out of their holsters. Every single case involves a cheap Uncle Mikes or Fobus.

Wish this would work. Dealers generally see two types of customers as the majority - one is the guy who buys nothing local and will only order online/mail order, who just wants to swing by a gun store and play with the toys before he orders.

The other is the guy who only buys local and if it's not on your shelf, tough. We get calls from people all the time looking for an item that they can't find in town. We tell them we can have it in 5 days, and they say, "No thanks, I want to find it in stock." 6 months later they call again, looking for the same thing. It is very hard to sell something to someone if they can't walk out with it.

Support your local dealers on the holsters.

We are working on making the full line of leather and New Generation Front Line holsters available in the US. If you want a Front Line holster, you can call us and we will sell you one. But if you ask your dealer to order one for you, you will get it just as quickly, for the same price (or less), and you won't have to pay shipping. You are supporting his family, his employees and their families, and putting money back into your community. Why would you want to order direct?

Want a Galco? A Blade Tech? Call your dealer and ask him to order one for you. Want a Fobus? Uhh . . . call your dealer and order a Galco instead. Let's start supporting the dealers. If we do, maybe they will be able to stock more holsters.

Well, you don't have to order a Galco. You could order a holster from any quality holster manufacturer instead of a Fobus. smile.gif
