So to against what I said about the surefire M900A retails for $625....

Someone on craigslist is selling one for a pretty good deal. So whats up with these? hype or worth it. For the price I can get it at it would be like $75 over the other route I had talk about. Theres no way in hell I would pay retail but this just popped up...

If someone is selling one for real cheap then it is most likely fake. Do you have a photo?

I have never been a fan, mainly because of the price, but also because I can't adjust the light to a position I want.

That and I think they are hideous, but that is the least important of my concerns.

Ask Thumper about his experiences, I think he has one. thumb.gif

I noticed that in the other thread after I posted it here. doh.gif

If you think it is the real deal, and really want it, then it is a good light/vfg combo. Just not really my style, but it isn't for me, it's for you. bigsmile.gif

It looks legit, but you can only tell so much from a picture.

I am slightly annoyed with the fact the seller is quoting this product to have a $625 MSRP. Being that this M900 doesn't have the QD lever, it is not the $625 model. That model is around $550. Minor discrepancy but I want 100% honesty if I am going to buy a product.

Thanks. If you want, go check it out. If you get a bad feeling just don't buy it. Make sure you go to a gun store and get a feel for what the real one looks like, feels like in hand, weight, etc. thumb.gif

Sorry, a little late to the party here. I saw this thread originally and thought that the Surefire was out of the question. Anyway, yes, I LOVE mine. They are quite pricey, but they are worth the money if you don't mind spending that much. They are VERY solid (as in you could almost beat someone to death with one). They do have a little heft to them due to the metal internal frame, which will add a little weight to the front of your gun (although, depending on where you mount it, it balances nicely). The M900 has the main light which can be activated either by the tape switches on the grip for momentary activation or the flip/knob switch for constant "on" use. There is also a "thumb" switch at the rear of the unit that activates the two low power LED's (which are available in red, white, or blue. Mine are blue). The LED's are referred to as "Navigation Lights". These are nice if you don't want to kick on the VERY bright main light, and they will still preserve a degree of your own adjusted natural "night vision". (Ya know, when your eyes acclimate to the darkness). The Surefires are available with 2 different attachment points. Either an ARMS throw lever or thumbscrews. (The M900 has ARMS, the M910 has thumbscrews). Mine is the M900.

Now, be VERY VERY careful buying a used one. There is an airsoft company that puts one out that has RICOH stamped on the side (and I'm sure there are a few others crapping out knock-offs at this point as well). The Surefire lights will have their logo on them. The airsoft shat will not hold up to real use, especially recoil. If you found one on Craigslist, check it out as best you can. If it is indeed a Surefire and they are asking a reasonable price, I would recommend that you jump on it. I absolutely love mine.

I'll keep a better eye on this thread, so if you have any questions, please ask.

I'll see if I can't get some better close ups of it tonight. But here is one shot of it.

By the way, the light pictured in the Craigslist ad does appear to be a Surefire based on the logos, but as plea pointed out, it's an M910, not an M900. (Thumbscrews).

I run a small Insight (HX120 Proxima) and a Pentagon (X2-HA) light respectively on my AR's. NICE Pentagon's can still be found at VERY affordable prices, as they are being closed out since Surefire ran them out of business. mad.gif You can pick up a couple (one to use & one for parts/backup) cheaper than ONE Surefire these days - another reason to scoop them up on the cheap while you! thumb.gif

This setup from LaRue is a damn good deal and I'm considering it myself...

http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=76

Thinking of doing this with a Tango Down QD VFG.

Of course, the urge to get a tan M910 is very tempting as well (layaway makes it hurt the wallet less all at once lol).

EDIT: So............ tempting................ only have to put down 10 percent of total price...........

... might just have my gun shop order one and see if I really like it that much.
