There is a left hand mag release modification available. The Norgon Ambi-catch. I have one and like it. Ambi selector is on all my rifles.

Isn't amazing how much a tiny piece of metal will run ya wacko.gif

I have to sell some shares of google but I really want one of those for my last build, hahaha

There is nothing wrong with the AR in terms of being the way it is. The mag release is perfect to me & with an ambi selector & the Magpul BAD, what can you have a problem with? BTW! In my opinion every AR should have a ambi selector. It's faster & safer to use the trigger finger to put it on safe & the thumb is the faster way to select fire! I don't have a BAD yet, but I will!
You guys also need to practice right handed everything! Shooting, mag changes, slide/bolt, one handed & anything else! If you get into a situation were there is any need to use a right handed firearm in a confrontation, you need to be prepared for anything! Your responsible for the safety of yourself & those around you! Let's say TSHTF & you have a situation that you are in a confrontation & your firearm is out of comission, but there's a firearm nearby & it's a issued M16, AK, M9 or any other firearm! Are you going to be able to use it? That lefty only AR you have is going to limit you. I was at first going to try to get a lefty AR, but thankfully a friend told me about the short comings of it! My M&P pistol has a slid release on both sides of the pistol & I will bet my life on it, but I also have a EAA Witness .45 without a ambi safety & I love it to, but I will have to practice more with it! Don't let your left-handedness be a burden to you! thumb.gif

Lefty eye, lefty shooter.

I've tried using left handed specific thing before and it just doesn't feel right.
I've found on my 10/22 and my bolt that I can hold the gun on target with the left hand and reach up, change mag, and operate the bolt extremely well.
Much faster than the right handed shooters I go shoot with. One of which is active in the Airforce.
Don't know what that says, but I'm faster than him. It's fun for me. haha smile.gif

And I don't mean to get churchy, but if I remember correctly there is a section in the bible that talks about a leader picking all left handed people because of their intuitive nature, amazing "sighting" skills, and quick reflexes.

yeah, lefties are the best! haha! Dancing_Grenade3.gif

So is a righty weapon not going to limit you if you need to shoot left handed? You can shoot a lefty ar right handed just as easily as you can shoot a right handed ar left handed. No offense just saying

I agree. And let's say in a SHTF scenario only a left hand rifle is available. Should all righty's train with a lefty, just in case?

The only real difference is the brass ejects to the left and hot gasses and brass aren't blowing across my face.

I'm in my right mind also. It is amazing lefties can adapt and compensate to a right handed world.

what are the short coming of a lefty ar? not as many parts available? the mere fact that anyone in the civilian world wouldnt buy a rifle tailored to their specific needs is retarded. if shtf and my gun malfunctioned the first thing i would do is drop my rifle and pick up the persons next to me or even better the enemies. people asked me why i got a remington lefty shotgun for $250 more when i could have gotten a used righty cheaper. well, i was sick of my eyes being itchy from shooting the shotgun gasses that are discharged right infront of my face. so if shtf, and i was running around with my righty semi auto shotgun, it wouldnt matter what the guy next to me had because my eyes would be so itchy that i wouldnt be much use. im sure thats not the case for all people, but for me it is.

everything should be ambi, the more ambi better. one of the best designs i actually saw was on the addax gpu with the side charging handle. the way i was taught to shoot was when holding the rifle (left handed) my left hand was on the pistol grip/stock and right hand on the handguard. if there was a jam or a problem id take my left hand off the pistol grip holding the weapon with my right hand on the handguard and pull the side charging handle thats on the bolt back and then quickly move my hand back to the stock. maybe thats not the way your supposed to do it with ar-15's. i hear guys say "i hold the weapon then cross my weak hand over the top and hit the charging handle". i tried that and freaking hated it. i felt like i was doing the hokey-pokey.

so am i not supposed to get that rifle because others around me might not have it and if shtf i wouldnt be able to use a side charging handle? with all thats out now, it wont be long before someone makes a upper that is ambidextrous as well.

Far as I know the only drawback to a lefty AR is hardly anyone makes them. I did get a left-handed Addax Tactical GPU, Chris used a Stag LH upper to make it. I'm not sure anyone else makes one.

Point of fact though, throughout my tour in the USMC I shot the m16 left-handed and never once had an issue with it being a RH action.

thats the thing. in the service you dont have a choice. but in the civilian world you do. but i think many people frown on tailoring a weapon to their specific needs if it means straying away from standard issue.

for me its not about the brass so much as it is about smelling the gas...

and now im really starting to second guess making the build im working on a right handed rifle hahahah
