Well I broke down today and got a Kimber. It's a Custom Shop Ultra Elite. It's a tiny little 1911. I ended up trading a PT 1911 and my Ruger MKIII. I "think" I made a good trade. Now all I have to do is find an ISWB holster for it.

As soon as I get a new camera, the old one bit the dust, I'm gonna post pics of all my new toys. Sad thing is the camera is way down the list.

Had to see what all the hipe was about and got a good deal on it so if it doesn't work out, it shouldn't be to hard to turn over for something different.

Devil Dog, I didn't have the best experience with my Kimber, but there are tons of people out there that love 'em like no other. Screw what other people think if you are happy with it.
Give us a range report with the pics, I'd like to hear your thoughts on your new purchase.

Very nice. That's not an entry level 1911.

Your trade sounds like a fair trade financially that both parties should be happy with, assuming none of the guns have issues.

Congrats on your trade, that's a fine gun model you just got, class piece.

I got the same thing when I bought the PT 1911 and it ran like a charm. The only reason I traded it is I have a Springer A1 figured I didn't need 2 full size 1911s. As you said, I will see for myself how it works out. Thanks TJ I know both of my weapons were in top shape and the Kimber seems to be as well. As soon as the weather gets alittle better I'll put it the test and post a report.

Any suggestions for an IWB holster for it. Preferably from one of our sponsors.I have 2 for my Springer but they seem to be abit to large, the Kimber is such a little girl.

Congrats on the Kimber oh yea.gif I use a Galco Silhouette high ride. Whats nice about it is the open bottom and a thumb break. You can use it for your 5" 1911 also. Rides high and tight.

Update Picked up a little Triple K Skeleton belt slide holster for a 30rd Colt AR mag. I know it's one the lower end, but it fits me. Broke the weapon down and gave it a "'good" bath and lube. Then the fun started. The bushingless model is a bit more tricky than a standard 1911. Putting in the guide rod was a %^%$#&&* but I got it in. BTW any hints on making this easier are welcomed and incourage, Please! Got here all back together, left the house to go to the farm to take care of a few things so I took it with me,along with a box of rounds. Finished work and went to the truck to get it and the rounds. Rounds got left at home on the dresser. I had 6 in the mag. 8x8 wood post at 20' all six in about a 5 " group. It does have alittle more Snap than my than 1911A1 . I think with alittle more range time with it , I'll be fine with it. I PROMICE I will get Pics up as soon as I can.

6 more rounds down range yesterday. A guy I was working with stepped of 34 paces (about 100') drew a 1" dot in the middle of a pizza box and hung it on a fence post. Walked back to me and said I had 6 rnds to hit it 1 time for $50. He thought a 3" brl would never do it at that range. I just had to prove him wrong. Hit 3 out of 6. 1st shot was high left 2nd shot center mass 4" high 3rd shot center mass 5" high last 3 did a tripple tap and missed all 3.BTW , I felt such a loss when I traded the Ruger MKIII so I just had to get it back.
