SOG ARCITECH WITH CARBON FIBER SCALE

Sog Knives Arcitech folder with carbon fiber scales. Sog has always produced well designed knives. Arcitech is a tribute to their design talent. Carbon Fiber Arcitech is a limited edition folder with a complex satin finished, and, mirror polished San Mai layered steel blade. A razor sharp inner core is bonded to a tough outer layer.

Immediately apparent with this folding knife is the amount of effort and attention to detail to produce it. Created for the high end collector, the carbon fiber Arcitech is produced in small quantities.

Polished titanium bolsters and liners add pleasing style, function and strength to this well-designed knife. Mechanically superior arc lock and effortless, solid lockup. The jeweled thumb stud is enhanced with polished abalone for an added feature. Reversible pocket clip for left or right carry. Well designed, light weight and very strong.

Oh, I don't own this one. I'd like to but it's a little salty (at least for me right now - gotta' rein in spending for a bit).

I carry a similar SOG Vision SV68 which has a VG-10 blade, titanium handle and the same "Arc-Lock". The lock function is similar to benchmade. If you push the lock button it removes all tension from the blade allowing it to open with no more than wrist movement. The lock is very strong. It replaced a spring loaded SOG Flash II. The Vision is a much better made and stronger knife. The "Arc-Lock" makes it almost as easy to open as the assisted Flash II.

This is the Vision

I picked up a SOG Flash II. It has that same lock, and I like it.

wifey bought me a SOG as xmas present when I first got into the Army, it only lasted a year before the tip was broken off lifting a latch on a dutch style door to get into tool room, wasn't even much pressure on it, needless to say it kinda soured me on them, up to that point I loved it held an edge well, locked great, never over ran the lock flip opening it in either handle hold or blade hold and it held grip well in the hand

The types of steel that hold an edge well are also brittle. SOG sells some knives with grades of steel that are more flexible.
