This is an UNCLASSIFIED PDF on SOPMOD studies, findings, problems and testing by Crane.

Pages 43 thru 51 have some interesting info on bolt/barrel failure and the often forgotten about problem of gas port erosion on M4s.

With the RIS II rail trials being over, you can update that part as being the Daniel Defense rail that was awarded the SOPMOD II contract.

I'm still not sure about the BUIS. Anyone have any news on that one?

They both got a portion for the rear BUIS? You would think they would make it one standard unit.
