I recently bought a G29 and have been looking for holsters and have bought and played around with a few. I thought I'd share some of what I've learned to save others the time and I by no means think I am any kind of expert, cop, soldier, holster designer, tactical weapons expert, ect. Theses are simply observations from a civilian living in the woods who happens to carry a G29 on a daily basis and has never attended Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, Seal training, ect. Simply put-- just my opinion.

1. Fobus makes left and right hand holsters for the G29 in many configurations although they are apparently junk.

2. Leather G17, G19, ect holsters will usually fit the G29 but plastic ones will not.

3. Bianch Carrylock and Paddlelock holsters for 9mm Glocks fit the G29 well. The leather stretches to fit and the trigger guard is close enough for the retention lock to fit nicely.

4. Most Glaco IWB Glock 9mm leather fits the G29 nicely.

5. Galco IWB with the horsehide and J hook so that you can tuck your shirt in are the exception to the leather rule because the leather is so stiff.

7. A fobus will put light little wearmarks on the trigger guard where the passive retention grabs as the gun as it is holstered.

8. Of all the holsters metioned, the standard fobus paddle is the most comfortable, stable, and easy to draw (for me) although apparrently it's widely accepted that they're junk.

Hope this is helpful.

There is a blackhawk serpa for the glock 20, and my glock 29 is sitting in it right now.

Fobus holsters are cheap POS and will fail when you need them, they are nothing more than a emergency holster or for range use.

Blackhawk SERPAs = crap/junk

Need to get quality holsters unless you carry a high point then feel free to shove a $150 dollar boat anchor into a $15 dollar holster......

Have had many fobus holsters over the years with no issues. Maybe for police work or Iraq they would not work but for getting coyotes out of my yard and away from my dogs and for trips into town they have never failed me. As for Serpas, doesnt the military issue them? I could be wrong and maybe am. My experience has been good with them so far. I don't claim to be an expert or my post to be gospel. I just thought I'd share some info. I was obviously wrong about the Serpa for the G20. You'll also notice that I'm using Galco and Bianchi products. I hope that lives up to your standards.

I'll suggest just about anything other than a Fobus. Glad it's worked for you, but if I'm trusting my life to a gun, I am also trusting it to the holster that carries it. I'd suggest Galco, Comp-Tac, or any number of quality holster makers.

Checked out the Comp Tac website. That stuff looks awesome. Will probably have to add one to the quiver.

For my little g29, I bought a super tuck deluxe iwb holster made by crossbreed holsters several months ago and absolutely love it. Lifetime warranty too! Great people to deal with, they are a smaller operation owned and run by an avid shooter and the holsters are all handmade. Overall great experience, just my two cents.
