So I live in NY and frequently hunt whitetail, turkey and duck. My uncle bought a house in Arizona and told my dad and I we are free to use it whenever we want. We are looking to go hunting there eventually, but I don't really know what is hunted there. My question is, what is something to hunt there that would be different than we can hunt here? What is Arizona best known for in hunting?

I was looking into this a couple of years ago myself.
Arizona has some huge Elk, black bear, antelope, mule deer, whitetailed deer, turkey, buffalo, javelina, desert big horns, and mountain lions as far as big game animals are concerned.
It is expensive for a non resident and most of it is by drawing/lottery.

HERE is a link for the fish and game dep't.

You have to get drawn. Az has a lottery system for big game hunting. The out of state fees are pretty pricey. Fall bear, mountain lion are Over the counter but you will need an out of state hunting license. If I were you I would get a 3 day license and a lion tag and go varmit calling. It is extremely difficult to call in a lion but you never know. Coyote and Bobcat can be taken with just a license.
