First round of my model 500 slug gun has steel shot in it too. For those who have not seen it up close and personal, there is nothing else you would fire in a home that will rip a man apart like it. Forbid you ever have to deal the aftermath of such a situation. The home 5.56 round of choice for me is the 55gr Hornady V Max. Nothing like a high velocity thin jacketed round designed to explode varmints to ruin one's day while plundering someone else's home. Those special designed varmint rounds were all the rage when Agencies started giving up their MP5's for the punch/range of the M4's and shorter. Now there are ALL kinds of good defensive rounds out there. I REALLY would like to see the results of these powdered metal rounds out by DPT and RBCD. Those have some real potential on un-armored assailants. The Range Master (who makes our duty ammo policy) still has us using 180g gold dot in .40 caliber though. So the sidearms I have are limited by dated concepts

Remember, the Founding Fathers reason for the 2nd Amendment... to combat tyranny. Sadly, when people discuss the 2nd Amendment, the opponents erroneously think it was meant to stand alone... it HAS a preamble:
"...But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..."
