Thinking about trying a chest setup with a SERPA to use with chest waders (its fishing time). How well do they attach? Sufficent enough? What about when moving (wading, casting, slipping, falling, etc)? Thanks!

Our SQDN just bought them for all of the aircrews going to Iraq to put on thier aircrew vest. I cant relly tell you more than that about them though.

Yep ...

I run a modified SERPA for my G29 on a Tactical Tailor MAV rig (2-pc unit, w/ the X-harness).

Another view: this is my Delta in a SERPA holster that's attached on a different rig, more of a vest unit.

I find that, for me, the holster-on-chest rig works better than a belt/thigh set-up. The holster's slight cant gives me an easy draw on the pistol.

The only time I run a holster-on-the-belt set-up is when doing training w/ no chest rig, where you only need a mag or two is for basic drills. Don't need the whole chest unit and its 6-8 mag pouches just for that ... Don't have a pic, but the MOLLE belt I use is the Blackwater "battle belt" type.

Many years ago we were issued Blackhawk vests with a holster built in for the Beretta 9mm & while the blackhawk vest was not bad, the holster was award to access, hurt when ya went prone and rolled on it and was not good when prone in goop. Some guys liked em, some loved em and some guys hated em, each was different. I always liked the 6004 holster better except when climbing hills & running where the single strap let em flop around and then a thigh holster was a real pain...

I've never worn a plate carrier or a MOLLE chest rig, but on my OSOE Force Vest I do like the 6004 as long as it's worn high.
