A lowside on the street.......front washed out braking on a turn entry.
Personally, I won't wear anything but a full coverage helmet. That said, I also don't ever ride in the city, or get caught in "traffic".
I might own a 3/4 helmet, if I were to take up skydiving (not likely).
And IMO ½ shells and skid lids are for those to whom safety is no concern......very little helmet=very little brain worth protecting.
I think that those that succum to peer presure, or those that are making some kind of fashion statement regarding their choice of gear, add to negative statistics used against us all.
i've only crashed and burned on dirt
glad you made it out of the lay down, chicks dig scars
i agree with the fact that full face helmets offer more protection, but in reality they are on par with a quality 1/2 (beanies are a joke) as far as keeping you alive after impact. now pretty is another topic all together
i rode dirt bikes and snowmobiles with full helmets and have rode rice rockets with them too. i ride a harley now and rarely hit over 60mph usually 50mph is the norm. i ride like every vehicle out there is out to kill me and am cautious as heck, but give me open roads and i have to have the wind in my face. i'd never wear a helmet riding a horse

Not true at all, I for one like riding without a helmet, but know that it's not good for ya & don't like the cooped up feeling in a full face helm.
The 1/2 helm I was wearing did it's job just fine when my head went SPLAT onto the pavement at 60-65mph... & bounced/skidded down the highway....
Sure the face could have gotten grated, but it did not, just lots of grit in the eyes...
It's just like carrying a concealed pistol, how many people who carry concealed also wear soft body armor......
don't really know about the cc and soft body armor but the rest sounds about right.
just stay away from junk, i have buddies who ride with a 25.00 bucket, might just as well wear a ball cap
but back on point
found a variant offered, painted like a actual fighter helmet. available in blue, orange (shown) and silver. yeah i'm a bit nutty at times but these look cool as heck. still like the desert tan one myself
