Anyone shooting the HK USP? I have a .40 cal that's a variant 7 with no safety, no decock, DA, Tritium sights etc. My buddy has a Glock 21. My HK is noticeably more accurate than his glock... Any1 else as stoked about the HK USP accuracy as I am?

I like them but I would never pay what they want for them. Great gun though.

But then I got my Addax Gas piston AR. Sure I still have to keep a few small replacement parts, but I'll let you kick me in the balls for every malfunction I have with my Addax GPU, thats how reliable it is!

So far we are at, hold on, let me check..... ZERO!

Built like a tank. Solid gun. Over-engineered, but very nice piece. I've had one, actually started in IDPA with one, before transitioning it off to get the XD back in the day. Pricey gun, not a lot of resale, but definitely reliable and a solid performer. I would own another one if someone gave it to me, or I could get a steal of a deal on it. Worth checking out, but not a great competition oriented gun, just FYI.

Too expensive for what it is.

Hard to find good holsters for it.

Mags are VERY expensive and often difficult to find.

VERY accurate.

Reliable.

Comes in seven million variants to make just about anyone happy.

I have the Compact 40 and love it!! It is my everyday carry pistol and not to mention the pistol I carried while an LEO.

Just out of curiosity, what prices are you guys seeing that they are over priced?

I've never seen a new USP in my area for under $800. They usually run $850 to $900.

hmm, I paid 450 for my HK USP. It's 1998 model I believe. The new ones go up around 750-850 at gun shows and I think retail is around 900. They make a certain model thats a little over 2 grand that is pretty neat to look at.

Mags aren't too bad unless your looking at the 28/31rnd mag. botach tactical sold me 6 hicap 13rnd mags for about what glock mags go for. The 31rnd 9mm mag works perfectlly in the .40 cal so I got one of those as well, holds 28 40.cal rounds and cost me 100$ used. Midway usa sells them for 150...

I'd say you got a hell of a deal. $800-1000 for a new USP, used guns are marked for $600+. No dealer has ever had mags for the HK's in stock, and except for the used mags in CDNN, mag prices I've seen are always $50+

I don't care if it's shaped like a penis and you gotta cradle the balls to grip it if it shoots realiably and Glocks do.

I've shot a few USP's, and I was very impressed with the USP 45 that a buddy owns. I was very impressed that is, until he told me how much he paid for it. For that money, I can be impressed with two G21's.

A fine handgun that's definitely overpriced. If they'd drop the price, they'd sell like hotcakes. However, I don't see that happening, so they'll remain a marginal seller.

I had the 45 Compact. It was not a bad gun I am not a DA/SA fan. I like the trigger to be the same every time. I will give it this though. If you can stuff it in the mag it would feed it and drop the hammer on it. I fed every thing from ball to empty cases through it and never had a problem. I did not like the compact because it pinched my pinky when I did a mag change.

The hk fits me better than the glock which helps accuracy but they do seem to be naturally more precise.
The trigger reach is longer on the hk which some student dont like but it is a quality tool.
Great choice.

Definitely agree with the lack of holsters to choose from. Love my .45, got it for $500 from a military guy who bought it while he was in stationed in Germany. Hell, that was over 10 years ago, and I have never complained about its performance.

I just bought the HK 45 and I can hit better with it than any pistol I have ever owned. They are pricey but if thats what it takes to hit the target do it. If you can hit with a less expensive make no need to buy an HK.

I've got one in my possession that is a .40, I haven't shot it yet though. Handling it so far....it's nice HOWEVER I don't think it's worth the nearly $1k price tag they command. I cannot stand the mag release on it though and hate decockers. Give me striker fired or single action any day.

I hate the decocker as well. Too many times when flipping off the safety quickly, it goes all the way down and trips the decocker, what an annoyance.

The mag release though, I actually prefer, I just use my trigger finger. My hand doesn't lose any bit of its grip strength or hold like it would in using the thumb, and it's not like I am going to be pulling the trigger when changing mags.
