Ya know the AMF years were't all that bad, my first new harley was a 1980 FXWG, first year, after getting broadsided by a '72 New Yorker in Boise Id. at 60mph+ and walking away I had nothing but problems "till and complete tear down and reassembly. It lasted 3 years befor stuff started falling off again. Built a 1958 pan chopper started with cases and papers, lasted 11 years and sold it to a californian who really wanted it bad, read MOney.bought a used evo low rider, felt like a monkey on a football, rolled over about 5 shovels and bought a new dyna wide glide ran well but couldn't stand it. New soft tail, it sat untill the wife crashed it 3 years ago, rebuit and sold, new chopper this time evo 110, lotta time and paint, still got that one, and last year new street glide, 103 W the 6 sp, at least this one feels like a harley. the soft tail was too small, 6'3'', 250lbs, the hard tail doesn't have enough clearance, and gives my back hell after 2 or 3 hours, but that bagger once the wobble got worked out with after market support on the underside, is my favorite now. Ahhh but I do remember the 1972 Kaw 750 triple, single ringed and ported that scared every one that road it, those were the days. Beginning to ramble on like an old fart, better shut up and go out to the shop and grin, It don't matter as long as yer in the wind all the little stuff fades away!!
