TRP is not a custom shop gun and has no different materials or processes than the Loaded line. It is no more accurate or reliable. For your extra $400 they stamp TRP on the slide. They make some beautiful Loaded models that concede nothing to the TRP.
Tell that to this guy!
I've shot it & it's tack driver! BTW does it have MIM parts?

Probably shoot just as good with a loaded. And yes the TRP has MIM, just like the loaded.

Screw it.

Rampy, go out and handle both models and come to your own conclusion.

Hell, shoot em both if you can.

"Aside from cosmetics..." eh? Coming from the guy who spent how much for cosmetic upgrades on a Les Baer?!?!

The TRP is a much better built firearm. Yea the finish is better, which is something you EXPECT with a more expensive pistol. Know what else is better? The slide-to-frame fit, hell, the overall fit and finish.

I have never seen any mechanical issues with TRP's, but I have seen a Loaded that couldn't even chamber the top 3 rounds of a magazine that was fully loaded (and yes, we tried multiple brand magazines).

This is what I've found from lurking & reading on different forums.

QUOTE (pleaforwar @ November 11th 2009 1:25 AM) *
In fact, now that I think about it, don't go with either... get a Taurus. It's basically the same thing minus all the cosmetic upgrades. Hell, it's even made in the same country!

Have and the TRP was the better finished & fit & felt better & seemed to have a tighter slide to frame fit & it seems it's more accurate from what I have read.

Here's a cut and paste from another forum:

The TRP pistol is a factory pistol which has been upgraded with more hand fitting than a standard factory pistol, as well as a 2 piece mag well, night sights, and better tuning internally. It has a quoted accuracy of 2.5" or better at 25 yards with match ammunition. It has the front cocking serrations and full length guide rod, just like the other factory "loaded" models. These pistols are finished with Springfield's Armory Kote finish, which is a painted on, baked on finish similar to the Black T finish.

Called the "local" Sportsmans Warehouse to see if they have a black TRP in stock as it's only a 2.5 hour drive to the store...

Yeppers they do have em in stock for $1,440.....with a 6.5% sales tax.....

GunBroker has em for around $1,350 for the most part give or take $50 but a couple are cheaper by a couple hundred till bidding on em picks up...

Sigh do I want to drive 5 hours and come home with a TRP or wait & save some $$$ and hopefully get one before the end of the world....

SGC has them for $1399 but you have to pay for shipping and transfer fee on your end.

I could have bought one this Spring for $1300 at the local shop. Have not seen one since. It's ok as I bought the Valor instead.

I did like the front strap checkering on the TRP, it's very aggressive. Lot of grip there, folks with soft womanly hands (Plea) might want to wear gloves.

Oak's logic:

Plea recommends the TRP.

The TRP has a very agressive front strap.

That must mean Plea has soft, womanly hands! bonkhead.gif

And I'm not the one who plays "dress-up" with my 1911's every other day.

Actually yes I did notice it, my Colt has 20LPI front strap checkering and the TRP is not as aggressive as the Colt.
