I have a Fusion frame kit on order and all the goodies plot.gif to get it all put together. Now to my question. I was thinking of having it done in two-tone, like dark blue or black slide and the frame in matte chrome. I have seen the Duracoat and really think it looks like paint, so I want something more subtle and for it to look like the metal has almost been stained. If that makes any sense. Anyway, does anyone have a finisher that they could recommend? And their contact info would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry, the only thing that comes to mind is Parkerizing (magnesium phosphate) for a matte blue look, and NP3 (electroless nickle plating) for the matte silver finish. The primary drawback to the "Parkerized" finish, is that it still must be oiled. The NP3 finish is self lubricating.

Robar Metal Finishing in Arizona is the only place (of the two) whose finish is guaranteed for the life of the firearm.

cerakote I think is what its called. I had a 700 heavy barrel done in black that I have beat to hell shooting dogs and its holding up better than the factory finish.

All of the fitting is complete and it is sitting on my bench. I will test fire this Friday and then prep it for the finish. I will take pics and publish a full parts list, range report etc ASAP. I can't wait to get to the range. Cross your fingers guys!
