Fonzie's motorcycle, a Triumph, a custom street motorcycle seen on the sitcom Happy Days on ABC from 1974 to 1984. One of the main characters was Arthur "Fonzie" Fonazarelli, an ultra-cool Italian-American garage mechanic with former ties to a street gang (The Falcons). To get around his home turf of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Fonz rode a motorcycle. In the very early episodes he rode custom Harley-Davidson models. In the later episodes he rode a Triumph. "I never knew how to ride a motorcycle," said Henry Winkler, who played Fonzie. "As a matter of fact in the credits I ride up the driveway of the Cunningham home. That was the only time I ever rode the motorcycle, and I didn't quite know how to stop it so that I kept going and nearly killed the director of photography and smashed into the sound truck."

rolleyes.gif Wow...so cool he wasn't

Fonzie may not be, but Triumphs well actually all British bikes are still cool even though they are pieces of crap and make old Harleys look like the epitome of dependability.

I was trying to remember what his MC looked like...all I could remember was the early episodes. Don't remember the triumph.

yeah, it is cool!

a friend up the street has a mutant bike that has the same heavily finned motor...plus around the exhaust ports too. common for those bikes i suppose. i LOVE the way the motor looks. very kewl!!

the bike has a springer type front end... again, love the looks of that too

and i can't remember how exactly but it has a pair of twisted steel rods as well on the front end (it's been a while since i've seen it)

no front brake at all and a drum brake out back blink.gif

suicide shifter, nice chromed spoke wheels and probably a few more touches i've forgotten... will have to get a pix of it next time i see it out

the dude rides it occasionally

i think it's funny that Winkler didn't ride

now Fonzie rode and don't anyone here try to confuse me with the facts!

Fonzie was kind of a dork, but that's a nice bike.

I love the old Brit stuff, in spite of the electrical system.

Hey now! I had Bonneville way back then!

I found it to be a classic example of English engineering and manufacturing similar to the English sportscars of the era!

That meant, drive them then fix them. oh yea.gif

From what I remember of my dads Triumph's (cars) was the electrical system was the damning thing on them. I don't remember them being too bad mechanically, I could be wrong his British obsession quickly went away and hot rods came back into play.

You're not wrong.

Anything with Lucas electric systems had big problems. That would include about 85%-90% of anything from the UK with an engine and wheels.

That is what I was thinking. I remember he got a VERY nice TR-4 when I was a kid and the first thing he did was strip almost the entire electrical system out and replace it.
