I typically wear either khaki shorts or blue jeans. I also typically wear shirts that come down to about 3 inches below the waistline of my pants. What would irk me about IWB CC is that my shirt or pants could print the gun if I have to bend over, or even kneel down. Does IWB concealed carry necessitate a whole new wardrobe with this caveat in mind, or are there really good holsters out there that mitigate this problem. To put it plainly, when I bend over or squat down I get a little plumbers ass going on. This would likely expose a gun on my 4' oclock. I like the idea of IWB CC as it is a much faster draw than an ankle holster, and I can still wear shorts in the summer time.

You may or may not have to change your wardrobe. Depends on the holster you choose. I prefer and will only carry IWB and both holster are comptac. I have the c-tac and the m-tac. The m-tac is my new favorite. I carry a G21 and have no problem keeping it hidden in clothing that is fairly dark and has a pattern of some sort. I can wear most anything else that is loose but there can be a slightly noticeable printing. 95% of people aren't going to notice no matter how you carry. Pick a good holster from a reputable maker and you should be fine. I haven't seen better holsters than a comptac.

You will need to learn that sometimes you can't bend over- you might have to squat down, for instance in a store. You just have to figue out what works for you.

I have Tucker Gunleather Texas Heritage holster and it works great. I can leave shirts untucked, or tuck them in. I have switched to the velco Comp-tac clips for dress wear.

Like OD45 says, get a good holster AND a good belt. The belt makes all the difference. A real gun belt, not something you can buy in a store.

What is difference between a C-tac and an M-tac?





How do the belt clips work? I saw some of the IWB holsters with different style clips and such on C-tac's website, but didnt understand how they attach to your pants.

Are they visible ontop of the belt? Do they slip behind teh belt?

They are visible, but people don't really see them. The V-Clips are invisible, becuse they clip behind th rebelt. I don't like the C-clips much.

Now if I have a 36" waist, then im gonna need to get a 38" sized pants to hold a CC holster? I notice when I sit down in my car that my shirt comes untucked and might drive the gun into my a#@.

A proper holster and belt will prevent that.

Another good way to keep the gun from digging into you is to wear it between 3 and 4. That way when you sit down it does jab you. I carry a full sized 1911 (Kimber Stainless II) and m y favorite spot with the MTAC is around 3:30, just rear of my hip. I find this digs in less when sitting and its easier to squat without it printing like crazy. The further towards 6 o clock you put the gun, the more it prints for me when I squat. You simply cannot bend over at the waist with a full sized gun...it just doesn't work. Squatting with a straight back is fine though.
