I woke up at 0230 and left for the Anuhuac Wildlife mgmt area. I met my buddy Wes. He is a master waterfowler and makes his own pirogues that we use to get around in very shallow water. We poled our pirogues about a mile and set up for the east wind that was blowing. We slaughtered them. Killed 2 limits by 0735, shooting hours commensed at 0607. I also killed my first banded bird, it was a mottled duck drake.

I used to duck hunt down here on the St. Johns river years ago. Man, those pictures bring back some good memories.
