Shot a friend's Saiga .223 the other day and I noticed that all of the brass was dented. I also read somewhere that the Golani Sporter did the same thing and ejected the brass about 30-40 ft. So here are my questions:
1. Is the dented brass something that all AK based rifles have in common?

2. Can either of these rifles be fine-tuned to stop this?

3. Is the answer just to shoot steel cased ammo in it and forget about reloading for this rifle?

Thanks
( I trying to decide which rifle to purchase although there is a $300 difference in the two.

Small dents will usually come out of the brass when it is run into a resizing die. Most AK platforms do this, and it is usually teh result of the bras hitting the edge of the dust cover or the harging handle. You could try to tune the ejector by slowly changing it's dimensions, but it probably isn't needed. Try reloading the brass and see if those dents don't come out during resizing

AK dents are no big deal - check out an HK-style weapon sometime; you'll be hauling your brass to the SCRAP dealer... ohmy.gif
