Has anyone used the Daniel Defense or young manuffacturing bolt carrier groups?
They look good but wanted to see if there was any 1st hand experience with them.
The youngs is $70 more but is chrome and national match.
Thanks

I have the Daniel Defense DDXV and I love the BCG. I was looking at other BCGs, but I found that the Daniel Defense BCG was really good from the factory. Unless something happens to my BCG I will be shooting this for a very long time.

DD uses a good BCG. However, if I were buying a separate BCG I would go with a Young chrome M16 BCG.

My chromed Young BCG is so sweet I can shoot it all day, wipe it down, and then plop on my coffee table as an attractive conversation piece.

National match shooters swear by them.

I have a young chrome bcg, and have yet to experience any failures with it. That being said, DD makes some top-notch products. It would be a tough decision in my book, I guess it really depends on overall application of the AR. Are you planning on shooting matches with this rifle or is this going to be a CQB home-defense type rifle?

I'm going to do a SBR, have to wait for my form 1 to clear.
I'm thinking a 10 1/2" barrel, noveske kx3 comp. or similar, CAA stock, DPMS LPK, YHM free float tube, and my black rain ordnance upper and lower once they come in.
I'm collecting the parts minus the barrel until I get everything.
I was thinking about the Adams arms piston kit, but not sure. I've never had a problem with my regular A2.
It's mainly a fun gun / house gun.
I'm leaning toward the Young MFG. chrome m16 BCG.

In that case I would go with either the Young chrome or DD, but not the N/M. You will be paying for benefits you won't experience with a SBR/fun gun. thumb.gif

The Young chrome BCG will need less lube than a phosphate bolt by any manufacturer.

Both are Excellent.

If you want Chrome, Go with Young.

Mil-spec phosphate, Daniel Defense is good to go.
