im looking to get my first 1911, and 10mm.

out of the many 10mm pistols i have fondled, the DW razorback fit my small hands the best.

what are the +/-'s of the razorback's?

how are the sights on it in the woods/low light conditions?

any advice would be great, as im not 100% sure on it yet.

thanks!

I've heard many a Razorback owner give praise to that gun. I just obatined a DW Pointman 7 10MM and will be taking it to the range this weekend. Does anyone know of any differences in machining and tolerances between both guns. The fit and opertation of the PM 7 is terrific. I hope it's performance is equal to the Razorback.

I would be inclined to believe that DW/CZ puts and equal amount of superior quality and workmanship in all their firearms, at least that's my expeirence.

Robert101, I would think that "any" quality differences between the Dan Wesson RZ, and the Pointman, would be undiscernable on all levels that count. The only "real" differences between the two guns are basically cosmetic ones. Most shooters cannot match the "built-in" accuracy of their weapons, due to they're own physical limitations. So I wouldn't give your worry a second thought.

I have two of the original 1 of 150 guns and I LOOOOVE them. They are the most accurate, smoothest, high power pistols I have ever shot. They are as accurate as my Springfield Omega Match's, and blew my Kimber Stainless Target II's, and Colt Delta Elites/Delta Gold Cups out of the water.

The only negatives is some of the early ones were so tight they needed a few hundred rounds to work in and get 100% reliable but after that, even those are near the perfect 10mm. If you get a chance to get a Razorback, snatch it up and smile all the way to the range and back! bigsmile.gif

What type of ammo do you shoot in these? Anything special?

Really want one. So, only cosmetic differences between the PM7 and Sprotsman? I had already posted a similar question somewhere... Sorry if anyone sees them both but I hadn't noticed this thread.

well i took my gun to the range, got 1 mag(9+1) thru it. as the last case ejected the slide did not lock back, but went forward. i dropped the mag and tried to pull the slide back. nothing. i tried the 1 hand charging teqnique with both hands. locked up tight.

the slide moves back about 1/2". thats it.

im highly disappointed to say the least, less than 18hrs of owning the gun and its broken.

ill be calling DW tomorrow, see what they are gonna do for me.

A full mag would be 8+1 rather than 9+1 unless you are using aftermarket mags... Which may be causing the issue.... Hmmm

it was the barrel link, and tight slide caused it to lock up.

keith from DW helped me get it running now.

I just bought my first 1911 and for some time now I knew that I wanted a 10mm 1911, but what I didn't know was what brand to get. Well, I found a pretty nice Dan Wesson RZ 10 (pre CZ made in 2004) at my local gun shop that was lightly used and in great shape. I'm glad I bought it!

I have 2 Razors in 10mm and they run as wellas they look, got aro. 500 rounds of reloaded ammo thru each and no failures what so ever. Factory ammo functions flawlessly as well ! I'm hopelessly addicted thumb.gif
