There is a gun show in town this weekend and one dealer has the Dan Wesson Pointman 7 in 10mm, another has the Colt Delta Elite. The Delta is about $150 cheaper, and I would like both, but can only get one. Which one to get?

I wasn't going to say anything, but I'd go Delta. I'm nostalgic and can't help it. I just got a new delta, and it is not everything I ever dreamed, some of you know the story, but I have hope Colt will drop an XSE after the run of deltas, so mine will remain unmodified for the time being.

Barring nostalgia or a desire to turn it into a $2600 custom Delta, the DW is PROBABLY, a better choice for the average user (factory fun factor). The little horsey on the side just makes my heart beat faster.

I bought a delta a few months ago on a whim. I didn't know this formum existed and didn't know that Dan Wesson even made 10mm's. The one I got shoots great. I put in the egw firing pin stop with only a slight radius and changed the springs. It is ok, but needs a little tweeking yet. The gun feeds most everything I put in it except the 200 wfn from btb., which it will feed but puts a mean dent in the nose of the bullet. Looking at the gun in hind site it has some assine features that really didn't hit me when I bought it, like the plastic mainsping housing and the plastic trigger (colt should be shot for those) what kind of A-hole working there thought that up? The wrap around plastic grips are very funtional but look like crap. Obviously these faults can be changed easily, but on a gun of this cost you should not have to.
If it is only 150$ difference or there about , buy the Dan Wesson.

The OP only had 11 total posts on the forum.

I guess he quit.

Now we'll never know what he got...if he even got anything.
