The way I see it - If your employer doesn't allow firearms on an employee durring working hours, and you feel the need to carry, do so. I would much rather have/use my firearm to protect my life, and risk being fired, than dead.

We're all smart enough to know when and when not to carry.

QUOTE (Gmountain @ October 28th 2009 7:15 PM) *
Well, I'm the boss. smile.gif My office is VERY gun friendly. We have 2A stuff around, guns around, cases of ammo, NRA paraphernalia all around. Gun parts and ammo are delivered on a regular basis. It's actually pretty funny- when I bring in an AR, everyone likes to fool around with it.

You sound like a great boss.

One of the guys I work with is into guns, he let me know that I prolly shouldn't carry on the job if i wanted to keep my job. Not like it makes a ton of difference anyways, we go into a lot of federal buildings and law offices to do IT repairs so I couldn't carry there anyways. But be sure as hell it'll be in my car and be back on me the second I leave work.

ETA: the don't ask dont tell policy is the best idea in this case. Read the employee handbook carefully, as long as there isn't anything prohibiting it, should be no problem. Like other's have said, better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6 and I'd rather lose my job then my life. Unfortunately in my case, there's not a lot I can do. I'll be outta here and into the military soon enough though.

I didn't carry when I worked at Wal-Mart, But I had my shotgun in my truck as usual. Wal-Mart is notorious for being run by fuzztard management that thinks company policy is greater than state law... Which is why I'm suing those sons of b*****.

Just keep it on the low and no worries. I even carry into the courthouse at night if i have to work there. I asked the sheriff about it because it was a rough place hesaid just keep it quite and covered and he wont check me.

I won't be at work. I can't afford to lose my job when unemployment is as high as it is. It's pretty controlled, but if I get shot there, that's why I have nice life insurance policies to take care of my family. I need to find out about the parking garage though, I may carry to the lot/garage from home and lock it in a lock box in the car during the day. That's just me though, and I fully understand why others would carry despite company policies.

It's easier to beg forgiveness that to get permission.

I wouldn't even broach the subjest!
