I picked up a used RRA Operator's stock and while I like the shape ... it wobbles and rattles a bit. The LMT SOPMOD is, of course, superb but VERY expensive. Have one and need another (but can't afford it!)

Anyone tried this cheap knockoff: http://www.thegunsource.com/item/166774_UM...TOCK______.aspx

Would appreciate an update on any experience with it.

Thanks,

Mike

I have no experience with the product you linked, but I will say this: obvious knock-offs at low prices are generally never good quality. A lot of them are made for air-soft application.

I recommend you go with the Magpul MOE. Around the same price and a proven stock. thumb.gif

For a quality stock that is similar but costs less, look at the Magpul ACS.

I would not buy it, but I am curious what is that little tool looking thing in the pic, might be for air-soft.

If you like the SOPMOD, then save your coins and get the best and proven stock.

I have not bought one of those. To me it looks like you will not be very happy with it.

Yep, looks like it is airsoft. I wouldn't expect that very sturdy, and most likely isn't made in the USA.

OK ... the maker does provide some stuff to the replica market. They also make the 22 LR Colt/Umarex tactical rifle. This stock is available as an option on that rifle.

As per not very sturdy ... any of you ever used a rifle with the original Colt collapsing stock? That puppy isn't very sturdy either!

Oh well ... just a thought. Looks like one of the rifles is gonna live with the old Colt stock for a while. Savin' my pennies to complete a suppressed Whisper (if I can get a CLEO signature for the suppressor).

+1 For the Magpul MOE. I had one on my 2nd AR and liked it. Didn't rattle at all, but then again, I didn't have that rifle very long.

I run Vltor's on my rifles, and in mil-spec (buffer tube) configuration, they ARE tight! thumb.gif I have a clubfoot on my M&P15T, and an EMod on my POF - both are BIG improvements over the factory M4 stocks I've had on other rifles I've owned (Olympic, Doublestar).

If you take a look at them as a possible alternative to what you have, I think you'll be impressed!

To the OP- I will be getting my CTR Magpul stock within about 2 weeks and have a Pardus stock on my DPMS. If you want it, I can send it your way. You can just have it, but I might make you pay shipping bigsmile.gif. Probably not though, the stock isn't that heavy.

Umarex is a builder of airgun and airsoft replicas and accessories though reports and websources show them recently teaming with Colt on the .22lr build, a few of their products will fit on genuine firearms but in most cases it's a sloppy fit, they weren't designed to the same tolerances nor the same product reliability standards of genuine firearms, therefore it is NOT recommended to use their products in such a manner

If you want another SOPMOD then save up a little more cash and get the one you want. That's what I did.
