I have a White Oak barrel for my upcoming first build. It is a stainless 18" spr profile with rifle length gas and a 1/7 twist. I was very impressed with it, but I just didn't want the stainless look on this rifle. I enjoy some diy projects from time to time, so I decided to cerakote the barrel. The pictures suck, but I am very happy with how it turned out!

Looks very nice.
How was the CeraKote to work with?
How about baking temps and times?

SSGN - The stuff is a dream to work with. It is extremely thin and consistent. It flowed very well from an airbrush. Bake time was 2 hours at 250f.
TS - I screwed it up too, the first time - haha! I had 2 slight runs on the barrel. I could have easily left it like it was without folks noticing, but I would know it was there. Having about 3.5oz left over out of the 4oz I bought, I decided to just blast it down to bare metal and do it again.
EH - I'm not sure what Amelon charges. I'm sure he does wonderful work!
I doubt that I saved much of anything by just doing a barrel. For me, it was about the enjoyment of doing it myself.
