Hi Everyone!
Just took delivery last night of my new (and first) AR. Wifey said I could have whatever I wanted for my 40th b'day and I picked out a CDD D-M4. Ordered from TGSCOM (doing business as
MidwestHuntersOutlet.com) and it arrived locally 2 weeks later. Here's a graphic:

A couple of suprises - 1st, I received a D-M4LE instead of the D-M4. From what I can tell on the
CDD website, the only differences are that the LE has a 4150 barrel with a 1x7 twist and a 'H' buffer and the standard D-M4 has a 4140 barrel with a 1x9 twist. All for ~$300 less than the retail price.

Second supprise was that it didn't ship with a case as their catalog states. I called CDD and asked for my case and they stated that they no longer are providing them, even though their catalog hasn't been updated.
I mentioned in a previous post
here that I bought the EOTech 2-piece aluminum handguards pictured below. Although I don't believe they are manufactured by EOTech they do seem to be of very good quality. I installed them on the weapon and they fit very well, no movement whatsoever. They look really nice, but they are not quite as black as the weapon is - although, definately not bad for $120! If you're interested, I got them at
US Armorment.
Anyway, headed to the range this weekend to give it workout. I don't expect any difficulties, especially after reading TigerStripe's excellent review of the
CDD D-M4.
Here's that picture of the handguards:
