To use a holsters when you pocket carry is a personal decision.
Some people do and some don't. This could help you decide:

Man urinating in South Bend alley accidentally shoots self

STAFF REPORT

SOUTH BEND — Police say a man who went to the hospital Wednesday morning with a gunshot wound accidentally shot himself.

The 21-year-old man told police he had stopped to urinate in an alley between Vassar and Humboldt streets just before 3:30 a.m., when his gun accidentally discharged.

The man, who has a permit to carry the gun, took himself to the hospital, where police were called.

Police say the gun was apparently in the man's pocket, as there was no bullet hole on the outside of his jeans.

The bullet went through the man's upper thigh and exited below his knee. The injury is not expected to be life-threatening.

In Georgia a holster is required for carry. No sticking a gun in your pocket without one, no tucking a bare pistol in the belt.

I used to carry J frames in front pockets without
holsters. I tried to get one out of the pocket in
a hurry and it had gotten tilted sideways. THat
caused me to get pockets holsters. I now use
either a Galco or Kramer. I prefer the Kramer.

Be careful. thumb.gif

Pocket carry with out a holster is just plain stupid. I used to pocket my Beretta without a holster in the half cock position pulled it out of my pocket one day to put it in the night stand and it had magically cocked it's self. I now carry a Ruger LCP. From the start I made a couple of molded leather holsters for it. It rides nicely in my pocket and draws easily.

There not Fancy and wouldn't win a design contest but they work very well.

I carry my Kahr PM9 in either a DeSantis Nemisis or a Galco PH460 . Both are pocket holsters.
