I think I have discovered the perfect concealed carry option for hot weather!!! I recently bought a maxpedition monsoon http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewPr...mp;idproduct=11 and modified a molle dropleg platform (I added velcro backing and trimmed it to fit in the profile of the backpack. Then I attatched a molle backed holster to the panel and it works damned near as fast as a holster on my body! The holster is infinitely adjustable for tactical light or no/ gun size (although I wouldn't try something subcompact in this holster). Here's the holster I used. http://www.blackhawk.com/product/Omega-VI-...ter,786,119.htm Maxpedition doesn't show too much detail about how the concealed pocket on their bags work but let me tell you the zipper pull is large and easy to find behind your back with your strong hand...a quick jerk up on that zipper pull, I reach in and grab the right side up pistol with tac light attatched in about a secound for the whole process. I am traveling for business as I write this but when I get back home I'll upload some pictures showing exactly what I did. Works well for a full size handgun in hot climats (houston).

Still away from home so I can't take pics but the I went with the backpack idea rather than the "fanny pack" just because I couldn't respect myself wearing a fanny pack, gun or no gun

I second the pic request when the OP gets home. A backpack is much more...socially acceptable.

I'm giving the murse thing a try, though. I can't bear to do it in public, but I have a Larue pack that I got to use for hiking, camping, etc. It has enough room for a nalgene and a small first aid kit inside , and I can attach a good size knife to the outside. The inner surfaces are hook & loop, so I bought an elcheapo holster, cut it down, and sewed a velcro panel on the back. It conceals my 4" mod 29 niceley. The factory universal "holster" that came with it works good for autos, but it just doesn't fit an N-frame wheel gun.

“Hence shall we expect the approach of danger? Shall some transatlantic giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe and Asia could not by force take a drink from the Ohio River, or make a track on Blue Ridge in the trial of a thousand years. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we shall live forever, or die by suicide.”—Abraham Lincoln
