I'm looking for an AR for 3 gun competition.(I recently participated in my first and I am hooked) I think I want to go the BM route, and I am considering the Carbon because of the weight. What are your opinions on the BM carbon? Also how much grief would a guy get if he showed up at a match with a BM Carbon Lady model. I found a pretty good deal on one.

I wouldn't buy a factory Bushmaster for three gun shooting. If you got a standard Bushmaster XM you'd have to do a lot of tune ups. I know nothing about the Carbon series...

I would begin with one of these D-M4, D-M4LE, D-M4LX or the D-M4BE which is designed as a three gun AR. You could start with any of the first three and make changes as you see fit but any of them will be ready to shoot right out of the box. In my opinion they are better than Bushmaster, some DPMS, Rock River and on par with an LMT with LMT parts in it. The D-M4 and D-M4LE are less than most of them. Charles Daly AR link I'm testing the D-M4 right now and I've found it to be on par with Colt.

I'm not receiving anything from Charles Daly to perform my T&E or promote their products.
